This Fall @ the Library Babytime for ages Birth to 18 months will run every Tuesday morning from Sept. 9—Oct. 28 at 10am. Storytime for ages 3-6 yrs. and Laptime Ages Birth-3 yrs. will run every Wed. morning from Sept. 10—Nov. 1st at 9:45 am. Incredible Edible Science: (6 yrs and up) - On Monday Sept. 22 at 6:30 pm, come try our hands – on yummy science experiments – learn amazing things using the everyday food you eat! Wild Things: (6 yrs and younger): On Wed. November 12 at 9:45 am the Wild Things program will come to the library. Roar your terrible roar and gnash your terrible teeth as you act like a “Wild Thing” at this special program. Enjoy activities all based on Maurice Sendak’s classic “Where the Wild Things Are!” Common Reader Book Group (Adults) Here are the dates and selections for this Fall. Check with a librarian to see if there are copies available for check out. The club meets at 1pm.
Pins & Needles Craft Club (Adults): Take advantage of the library’s ample table space for your craft projects such as scrapbooking, beading, card crafts, quilting and more. This program goes weekly on Thursdays at 6pm. Craft Make and Takes (10 years and above) Join us from 4-7pm to learn how to make the following fun crafts:
Flower Arranging with J (Adults): J gives Flower demonstrations in every state in the Union, Canada and throughout Europe. Critics, sponsors and flower loving attendees agree J is one of the most sought after experts in the worlds of flowers. Limited to 20 people; register online at www.kdl.org Gaines Township Library Knitting Group: (all ages) Join us at the library for a relaxing two hours of knitting or crocheting. Learn to knit for the first time, or come to learn new techniques like the Magic Loop – socks on one circular needle. Both experienced knitters and those new to the craft are welcome! (Fridays, September 5 & 19, October 3, 17 & 31 and November 14 & 28 and Saturdays September 13 & 27, October 11 & 25 and November 8 & 22. All meetings from 10:00am-12:00pm) Talk Time: A Conversation Group for New Speakers of English: (Adults) Practice speaking English with other beginners in a comfortable, small group setting. Get to know people from other countries and have fun! Una hora de hablar! (Wednesdays, September 3, October 1 and October 29 at 3:00 pm) Freezer Paper T-Shirts (Teens): Make your own design to paint onto a t-shirt. Bring your own shirt/bag/whatever or specify your size and we’ll provide one for you! (Wednesday, September 17) Nintendo Wii @ Your Library (Teens): Show off your Wii skills or learn some new Wii tricks (Wednesdays, September 24, October 22, and November 19 at 3:00pm) Knitting For Teens (Teens): Learn to knit fingerless mitts – materials provided!
