The Cutlerville Fire Department is a joint operation between Gaines Charter Township and Byron Township. The Department is comprised of 17 personnel, which include 5 officers and 12 fire fighters. Of these 17, 12 are Medical First Responders, 3 basic EMT's and 2 Paramedics. We also have 3 full time personnel at the Fire Station Monday - Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Department responds to a variety of different calls including: fires, medicals, car accidents, hazardous materials calls, car fires, other miscellaneous fires, distress calls, lock-outs and any other types of calls that may warrant our response. We also provide mutual aid for the surrounding area Departments. In 2002, the Department responded to 1331 alarms and are right on track for 2003. Along with emergency and non-emergency responses, we participate in public education, school fire drills, fire prevention programs and area business inspections.

Our apparatus include: 2 engines, 1 aerial truck and 1 medium duty rescue vehicle. We are also adding a light duty rescue vehicle in 2003.
